Each product/series sold via the Register can be discounted by dollar value or percentage. Just click in the field under "% Discount" or "$ Discount". The $ Discount is a percentage approximation. If you find the dollar amount you enter for example "$60" shows up as "$60.01" adjust the % Discount to the appropriate decimal to get the desired $ value.

Any discounts created at the register are not tracked in any report. This feature gives a quick on-the-spot price reduction. For traceable reductions, use a "comp reason" or promo code.

Contracts discounted at the register will discount all future occurrences as well. To discount just the first month, use a Promo Code, or after adding the discount in the register go into the customer series summary, click the edit series icon, and set the "Discount" field to $0.

NOTE - Comping Series and Contracts does not remove the 'New' status from the customer, allowing them to benefit from Series/Contracts restricted to New customers. A customer is only no longer considered New whenever they purchase a Series or Contract that does not allow them to remain new on purchase.
