Studios can offer Digital Gift Cards via the zingFit system. Here is an example (click for larger view).

There are two steps that studios must complete to make Gift Cards available:

  1. Make Gift Cards active by clicking Yes on (Admin > Scheduling/Retail > Gift Card > Edit Gift Card Config)

  2. Create a link on your website to the Gift Card page: Full integrations -> http://www.yourdomain.com/reserve/index.cfm?action=GiftCard.new , Remote integrations -> http://yourdomain.zingfit.com/reserve/index.cfm?action=GiftCard.new

In the Gift Card Config (Admin > Scheduling/Retail > Gift Card > Edit Gift Card Config), you will notice some options.

  1. Upload a logo to display at the top-left of the Gift Card (maximum width 300px)

  2. You have the option of uploading a custom Gift Card image (600px by 300px) or you can use the default dark grey image

  3. Enter any Terms and Conditions to show at the bottom of the Gift Card (keep in mind gift cards do not have an expiration date; can be used whenever but also can be denied after a certain point if you wish).

  4. Since the customer will determine the value of the Gift Card (values are not determined by the studio), you may want to set a minimum and maximum value on the Gift Card

  5. If you choose to Show Series Pricing, the online customer will be able to match the value of the Gift Card with the price of one of the Series/Contracts offered by the studio.

Below is a representation of the Gift Card purchase screen seen by online customers (click for larger view).

Gift Card Redemption

Gift Cards can be redeemed online or in-studio. For online redemption, studio customers will see the Redeem Gift Card option display at the top of the take payment screen (after choosing a package on the Buy Series screen).

In-studio, Gift Cards are redeemed via the Register Take Payment window. Find the customer in the Booker, click Register, add the package or product to be purchased, and in the Take Payment screen, the Redeem Gift Card option will appear in the left-hand column.

NB: When a Gift Card is redeemed for less than it's current value, the customer must retain the Gift Card to use at a subsequent visit. If redeemed in this manner in-studio, it is good practice to write the remaining balance on the printed card if available. Otherwise, studios may choose to place the remaining balance on Store Credit via a separate transaction.

Additionally, when a Digital Gift Card is redeemed online for less than its current value, the same 'Card Code' can be used from the booker for the remaining amount.

To sell a Gift Card in-studio

  1. Find the customer in the Booker, click Register, and in the right-hand column click GiftCards/Credit, and then click the Digital Gift Card option.

  2. In the pop-up window, Enter the gift card value and other information, click "Print" or "Email" at the bottom, and click Submit.

  3. You will end up back in the Register and the gift card will appear in the cart at the top of the screen. Click Take Payment.

  4. Take payment for the Gift Card and click Purchase

  5. On the next screen, if Print was selected, you will be prompted to print the gift card on your local printer

NB: if the studio does not already have an anonymous user account set-up, consider doing so for transactions such as these where the purchaser may not have a studio user account.

View Gift Card Purchases

Studio managers can view all existing Gift Cards at Admin > Scheduling/Retail > Gift Cards. Gift card codes can be searched within any given date range.

Gift Cards that have been created by an Admin, can only be searched with their 'Card Code' within any given date range.

Deactivate Gift Cards

To deactivate gift cards, navigate to Admin > Scheduling/Retail > Gift Cards > Edit Gift Card Config. Here set Gift cards Active to "No". This will not allow gift cards to be sold in the Studio nor will it allow customers to enter a gift card code to redeem it. Gift cards DO NOT have an expiration date, so they can be redeemed at any time after purchase as long as they are set to be Active.
