Customer Referrals

The Customer Referral tool gives you the ability to incentivize your current customers to help recruit others to your studio. When customers refer a friend or family member to your studio, you can easily track and reward every customer whose referrals resulted in new business for your studio.

To get started, go to Admin > People > Customer Referrals > Edit Config

*Make sure to select Customer Referrals, not Customer Referrers.*

Here are the options on the Referral Configuration page:

  • The Trigger is the type of activity in which the Referred Customer must engage for the Referring Customer to get rewarded. This can either be the number of Classes Taken or the Money Spent by the referred.

  • Excluded Packages & Memberships will make it so money spent or classes taken on selected Packages and Memberships will not count towards the reward. We recommend excluding any Series that are already discounted.

  • The Reward option gives you the choice to provide Store Credit or a Package/Membership to the referrer. Additionally, Store Credit can be restricted to only apply to Packages & Memberships or include retail items.

Once the Referral has been set up, studio customers can access their referral link by logging in > My Account > My Info > Invite a Friend under the Referrals section.

The studio customer can send an email, share it on social media, or copy and paste the referral link to send it another way. The Referred Customer will need to follow the link to sign up for a studio account, after which the Referring Customer is rewarded for their friend or family's activity in the studio with either store credit or free classes.

In the image above, you can change the text "For each friend that signs up... etc." in Admin > Site Content > Web Content > Refer a Friend. In the section Form header, enter the desired text and the default system-generated text will disappear.

If using the Email your link option, you can set a default message to be added to your referral email in Admin > Site Content > Web Content > Referral Email Default Text.

NOTE: REWARDS ARE ISSUED ONLY ONCE PER REFERRER (so a Trigger with 10 Classes Taken, will not reward the referrer on his 20th class). Furthermore, if the reward threshold (classes taken or money spent) is lowered, then customers who have reached that lower threshold will be rewarded immediately.
