Best Practice: Customer Referrals

Once your Customer Referrals are enabled and are set up with an incentive, you can use this tool to expand your customer base and reward those who help recruit others!

When your customers log in to their account, they will see an option to "Invite a Friend". By clicking this option, they will be presented with a link specific to their account that will be used to refer their friends. If a person is referred and signs up using the link they were given, the customer who initiated the referral will be rewarded with a series or store credit depending on the reward trigger you implement.

Promote via Email

zingfit provides a "New Customer" System Email, which is automatically sent to the new customer upon account creation, either from the Booker or from the public website. Then, a 'Booking Confirmation Email' will also be sent as soon as the customer has finished reserving a spot in a class.

The New customer and Booking Confirmation system emails are a perfect way to communicate to customers about Referrals and how to refer their friends and family. This communication route can make it easy and clear for customers to use the referral link to invite people and have them join as a member!

Here are examples of how to relay and promote referrals in the New Customer Email that you can use and spin it your own way:

  • Welcome to our studio! We reward those who refer friends and family with a free class. All you need to do is log into your account, select "Invite a friend", and send the URL to your friend (or family member). Have them purchase a 1 Class Card and you will get 1 Class Card on us!

  • If you haven't heard yet, we reward those who bring their friends! Log into your account, select "Invite a friend", and post the link on your Facebook page! For each friend who spends at least $25, you will receive a FREE class on us!

  • Want FREE classes? For each friend or family member, you refer to us and they spend $30, you will get a FREE class.

  • Want to ride with a friend? Log into your account, and select "invite a friend", have them sign up through your link and get $20 store credit on us! We're so excited to see you guys!

Important details to keep in mind

  • Be sure to include steps on how they can refer their friends. (Log into their studio account and select "Invite a friend".

  • We encourage including a reward for the referring customer. Most customers will not invite their friends or family members if they aren't seeing the value in doing so. If there is a reward, it's important to communicate it to your customers.

  • Creating a MailChimp Marketing Campaign in addition to your system emails is a powerful way of encouraging your customer base to always refer their friends and family!
