Editing the Gender options on the sign in form

Currently, the gender options on the customer sign-up forms are binary, this is something we as a team at zingfit are aware of and are working to update. In the meantime here is a solution to make your system more inclusive and to make customers feel more welcome in the studio.

First, go to Admin > People > Customers > Configure Customer Fields this will show you all of the fields available to both your new and existing customers and whether or not they are required when creating an account.

Scroll down to the option for Gender and untick the boxes for New Account (Display & Required) as well as Edit Account (Display & Required) if these are already ticked.

Then select one of the 6 Custom Fields and rename it to Gender and then tick the options for New Account (Display) & Edit Account (Display) it is up to the studio if they would like this to be a required field.

Doing this will create a text box for Gender, allowing the customer to write whatever option they feel most comfortable with without trying to place them within a predetermined option. You can also add help text on the right. This will appear in the box in grey and will be replaced when the customer types their answer.

This option could also be used to add a field for preferred pronouns

Please be aware any changes to the customer sign-up options may take up to 30 minutes to appear.
